Celebrating STEM Day at Hallen School
On May 23, our team expanded The Alan Wallack STEM Learning Center throughout Hallen School with a full day of hands-on learning and exploration as part of the fourth annual STEM Day. STEM Day transformed Hallen School into a vibrant learning lab, featuring the University of Bridgeport’s STEM on Wheels bus, a mobile lab packed with exciting experiments and engaging activities, and live science demonstrations by “Science Sam,” who makes science come alive!
Pre-K and 1st grade students explored coding with Beebots, while other classes built squiggle bots, created tessellations, built electrical circuits, explored metamorphosis, and extracted banana DNA. Sixth-grade students used robots to play basketball, and the day ended with a big bang for the entire school.
Thank you, Hallen School, for hosting our Alan Wallack STEM Learning Center and helping bring STEM education to so many students!

Filling our Halls with Art
We’re thrilled to unveil the stunning new mural at Hall Neighborhood House—brought to life by the incredibly talented Holly Sutton-Darr.
Holly’s artistry has transformed our space into a vibrant celebration of community, creativity, and care. With over 30 years of experience in design and a lifelong passion for painting, she brought not only her talent but her heart to this project.
Thank you, Holly!
New Basketball Team
We recently hosted try-outs for our AAU basketball teams, and a huge number of young people took to the court. Because of students’ enthusiasm and talent, we were able to create a new Freshman team who won the very first tournament they entered! We are so proud of all three of our AAU basketball teams and can’t wait for many exciting competitions ahead.
Transportation for Our Seniors
Hall Senior Center provides transportation for 8 to 10 Seniors on Tuesdays and Thursdays, picking them up at their homes and returning them in the afternoon. Without this transportation, they would not be able to attend the Hall Senior Center, which is vital to the well-being of our seniors. They enjoy socializing with their peers, preventing feelings of isolation and depression.

Thank You, Fones School of Dental Hygiene!
It’s been an incredible semester of dental care thanks to the dental students from Fones School of Dental Hygiene. These talented individuals provide exceptional care to people of all ages in our community, from screening for cancer and dental prophylaxis, to sealants and x-rays.
Thank YOU for being part of the Hall family.
We’re grateful for your support and all the ways you help build community, connection, and care here in Bridgeport.
